Dzekashu MacViban

Dzekashu MacViban is a leading publisher and curator of African literature and translation. He is the founder of Bakwa Books, a Cameroon-based publishing house which empowers creatives and storytellers through print and podcast projects. He was previously Editorial Manager at This is Africa, has been guest editor at The Schloss Post and Solitude Journal and will co-edit The Best of African Writing (2023) anthology. He is the editor of Of Passion and Ink: New Voices from Cameroon (2020), and co-editor of Limbe to Lagos: Nonfiction from Cameroon and Nigeria (2020). He is the author of Scions of the Malcontent and his writing has been translated into Japanese, German, French and Spanish. Dzekashu recently curated “You Have A Fullness You Need To Bring Out” (Akademie Schloss Solitude, 2021) and he is a recipient of an Akademie Schloss Solitude Fellowship.
