Dzekashu MacViban

Dzekashu MacViban is one of Cameroon’s leading publishers of African literature and translation. He is currently Editorial Director at Bakwa, a Cameroon-based publishing house which empowers creatives and storytellers through print and podcast projects. He was previously Editorial Manager at This is Africa, has been guest editor at The SchlossPost and Solitude Journal and will co-edit the Best of African Writing anthology. He is the editor of Of Passion and Ink: New Voices from Cameroon (2020), and co-editor of Limbe to Lagos: Nonfiction from Cameroon and Nigeria (2020). He is the author of Scions of the Malcontent and his fiction has appeared in Wasafiri, Kwani?, Jungle Jim, and elsewhere, and his writing has been translated into Japanese, German, French and Spanish. He is the recipient of an Akademie Schloss Solitude Fellowship and he divides his time between Berlin and Yaounde.
